During the United Story: Celebrating Bodies Night, participants engaged in a various collaborative story art projects that allowed them to visualize celebrations of their bodies and sexual identities.
1. “Celebrating My Body Means…” Project
For this project, participants drew reflections upon provided mirrors in completion of the statement, “Celebrating my body means…” Responses included accepting one’s body image, exercising, getting sleep, and more. View photos of the project here.
This collaborative project allowed event participants to map their reflections on a life-size drawing of a body.
3. The Emphasis Project
In this activity, participants were directed to draw images of their bodies, emphasizing the parts that they notice and recognize the most. Emphasis could be distinguished by size, by color, or even a change in materials used.
